The Castle Upon the Hill

Behind the Shot.

Amidst the mesmerizing landscapes of Goblin Valley State Park in the Utah desert, I seized the opportunity to capture a sunset that unfolded like a masterpiece. Thousands of sandstone formations adorned the valley floor, each sculpted by the patient hands of time. Among these intricate formations, a colossal rock jutted out, overseeing the entire valley. A winding road, resembling a snake's path, meandered towards this majestic rock, serving as a compelling leading line. To add a dynamic element to the scene, I experimented with a long shutter shot of a car navigating the winding road, leaving behind a captivating trail of red tail lights. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the desert sky transformed into a canvas of soft, thin pink clouds. The pastel hues draped over the rock formation, casting a warm and ethereal glow. It was a moment frozen in time, where the convergence of natural wonders, human ingenuity, and the artistry of the setting sun created a visual symphony in the heart of Goblin Valley State Park.
