High Alpine Spring

Behind the Shot.

Captured at Summit Lake during the first week of June, a time when everything was still blanketed in the lingering snow of winter. Even at this altitude, above 13,000 feet, the grasp of winter persisted. In the midst of this snowy landscape, I discovered patches of rocks that I strategically placed in the foreground. Suddenly, a sweeping wave of fog enveloped the surroundings, transforming the scene into a complete whiteout. Amidst this ethereal atmosphere, a small opening in the clouds allowed for the softest glow of light to pierce through. This gentle illumination added a touch of magic, creating interesting and delicate play of light and shadow in the midst of the winter wonderland. It was a captivating moment, where nature's ever-changing elements converged to craft a scene of serene beauty.
