Crystal Skies on Crystal Lake

Behind the Shot.

In the heart of fall, I found myself at Crystal Lake near Ouray, Colorado, nestled on Red Mountain Pass. While I missed the vibrant fall colors, with the leaves having gracefully fallen, the morning held a different kind of beauty. The absence of clouds paved the way for a minimalistic and tranquil reflection scene. The distinct V-shape of the mountains mirrored in the serene waters, forming an X-shaped reflection. The clear blue sky contributed to the calmness of the scene, with the rising sun gently touching the peaks, casting a subtle golden glow. Despite the absence of traditional fall foliage, the simplicity of the reflection created a tranquil and captivating atmosphere.
