Behind the Shot.

In the aftermath of a grueling winter journey from Colorado to Utah, a 13-hour detour through a snowstorm tested our endurance. Arriving late at night, the next morning was a time of recovery and rest. Despite a gut feeling that the following morning at Arches National Park might be unremarkable, I ventured out with my camera and tripod anyways. As I settled into the quiet morning, doubts lingered. Then, unexpectedly, the clouds above began to subtly embrace hues of color. What started as a gentle touch quickly erupted into a burst of vibrant shades, a fleeting spectacle that unfolded rapidly. In just a few short minutes, the sky transformed, capturing the essence of that unpredictable and magical moment—my favorite aspect of photography, where beauty unfolds in the blink of an eye and dissipates just as swiftly.
